What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday:

The hearts with the glass bead gel took on quite a transformation since last week  They have been painted, glued and outlined with a distress marker. The distress paints are waiting to put away as are the butterfly stamps and Sakura souffle pen.  The Distress Oxide in wilted violet is just visible (absolutely LOVE it). The wrapped almond fudge biscotti has been sitting there for several weeks now.  When I brought it upstairs I must have thought I would find time to munch on it without putting any thought into the fact that it's rather difficult to eat when my fingers have paint all over them!

This spread in my Listen to Your Heart art journal was tedious and pushed my patience but I love how it turned out. For a closer look click HERE.

The next day I took another desk shot as I thought you would all get a chuckle at how I have to work around Allistair.  I use that phone book as a glue book.  When I apply glue to paper I have a tendency to get it everywhere so I use an old magazine or phone book, turning the page when I need a clean surface. Of course, Allistair sat right where I was gluing!  Fortunately, I have a solution for this:

a cat window seat!  We have four of these in various windows in the house.  This one in my craft room saves me from having cats walking across or sitting on wet paint.

Lastly, a handmade postcard.  The swap theme was "put a definition on it".  It is traveling all the way to the Netherlands.

I wish all the deskers at WOYWW  a fabulous week.  I've come to realize that some of the participates are going through some difficult trials and I just want you to know my thoughts are with you.  I'm sending hugs and love to everyone's desk this week.

Joining up with What’son Your Workdesk? Wednesday where desk snooping is not only allowed but all part of the fun! What's on your desk?

  1. I'm coming back as a cat in a next life, they have such a good time. I won't kill birds though like that rascal Rosie next door to us haha

  2. I NEED one of those cat seats... actually, I need 3 lol

    Have a wonderful Wednesday :)

  3. Alistair is a beautiful boy and deserves such a luxury cat basket as the one he is modelling for us all today.
Love your journal pages, will the loose one be stuck in at a later date?
Hugs & Thanks for visiting me
    Neet 7 xx

  4. Morning Diane. What a lot of fun your cat has - trust he never gets glued onto the phone book - that's a really good idea, by the way!
    Take care. God bless.

  5. Adoring your heart pages, love all the vibrant colours which set off the hearts beautifully. Super postcard too.
Glad you like how the embroidery has come along. I've not done any in years and was concerned as my hands go numb with fine stuff but I can do as much or as little as I please each day which works just fine. Having no real plan sure helps there as I don't really have an end point to reach. Maybe you'll be inspired to pick up a needle again. BJ#9

  6. Alistair is a handsome fellow and looks like he has the best spots all around the house. Great AJ page. have a lovely week.

  7. Beautiful art Diane and Allistair is a beauty!

  8. I love the pages you've been working on. It walkways makes me chuckle that cats just know where not to sit....just love them.

  9. I think cats must have been crafters in a previous life; they always want to get into the act. Love the finished art journal page. Sarah #25

  10. Hi Diane - first - the cat seats are brilliant! The biscotti story is really quite incredible to me - I would just eat it first, happily munch through whilst just gazing at what I'm planning! Lovely desk, the heart pages are fab...I think with this much detail that a lot of the skill is knowing when to stop.

  11. Hi Diane, love your pic of Alistair! He is a beauty, isn't he? Can just picture him standing up to find his bottom attached to the magazine, lol. Great window seat for him though. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #8 XxXx

  12. Hun you need to master the 'aseptic no touch technique' I previously worked in one of the last hospitals in the uk to still insist upon it (in an ever more challenging effort to reduce the transmission of infections of patients arriving in hospital - that put others already there at risk)... I can eat anything now without touching it (we modify the clinical skill for personal use) because you certainly don't want to use your hands (no matter the use of gloves and handwashing) after some of the things you have to handle on wards....The hears are magnificent... dxxx 13

  13. Beautiful journal page. The postcard is wonderful.

    Happy WOYWW

  14. Oh Diane, that's so funny. Alistair is in danger of being painted. He's a very handsome boy. I love your journal, it's fascinating to see where the hearts from last week ended up. I have been getting tips from your page. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the distress oxides, they look fun to play with.
    Have a good week.
    Hugs Lisax 24

  15. What a stunningly beautiful cat. Ms Kitty wants a date!
Journaling is so much fun. And mixed media present you so many opportunities to turn just about anything into use on a page.
I have been absent from Tim's art for a couple of years and finally beginning to use up my "Distress' pile and now I see he has more new things.
    Enjoy the week ahead.

  16. Hello to Allistair from Inky! What a beautiful cat he is! I love the little window beds - so cute! Your heart journal page is awesome - you obviously put your "heart" into it! Lots of nooks and crannies and lovlies all over the page! I really want some of that Oxide Distress ink! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #39

  17. Loving your pages and especially enjoying Allistair. I have never seen a window cat seat like that but that is cool. I bet he enjoys it, but probably not as much as sitting in the middle of your work space, especially when you are trying to work. :) Hugs-Erika

  18. just catching up with some visits - you can get paperartsy stamps in the US I have attached a link from one of their blog posts from last month at the end, Leandra lists stores that stock the stamps. happy shopping! I love your journal pages. Helen #1

  19. Hi Diana, so love your Alistair though I'm not sure Maisie and Stan are too keen Lol! Gorgeous journal pages, love them to bits. Happy belated woyww, Angela x19x

  20. Love your spread, all that texture, yummy.I also need to be creative to balance the left brain, I'm lab technician so we have science in common. The red chair is actually reserved for my son, but i could make an exception, it is all the way in Belgium though, :-), have a lovely weekend, Vicky

  21. Love the photos of your desk and especially your cat with a little glue on her bottom. LOL. Dorlene #36
